The very first Olympics took place 2,797 years ago, in Olympia, Greece, where they will be held every 4 years thereafter until the 4th Century. Then, they disappeared. Under the initiative of the French educator and historian Pierre de Coubertin , New Olympic Games were launched in 1896, in Athens. Pierre de Coubertin is known as the father of the modern Olympic Games.  In this week’s Bilingual Zoom Class - our bilingual class with our French-speaking pen pals - we are going to take a little world tour of the places where my French and English-speaking students live. Google Earth is an excellent tool for discovering the world, easy to use during Zoom classes, and it always fascinates my students. We live all over the planet, we are in different time zones, and yet, we meet every Tuesday at 6 PM for some (France), 9 AM for others (Las Vegas), or 12 PM (in North Carolina) or 9 PM (Réunion Island).
